There are so many activities and things to do in North Devon, here is a selection:
Fishing
There are many types of fishing available in the area, you can fish straight off the beaches or hire a boat in Ilfracombe Harbour for some sea fishing. Coarse fishing is available at Riverton Fisheries or Slade Reservoir near Ilfracombe. Trout fishing is available at Blakewell Fisheries or Dulverton Lake and River.
Horse Riding
Horses are allowed on both Putsborough and Woolacombe ends of the beach and on Saunton Sands and the area has many bridal paths. Horse riding stables are located in Woolacombe and the bridal ways of Exmoor are not far away.
Surf Schools and Water Sports
There are several water sports available in the North Devon area. From surfing, kite surfing, stand up paddle boarding, body boarding and swimming. Surf schools offering tuition and shops renting or selling all the necessary kit are nearby in Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe or Braunton.
Other water sports in the area are jet skiing, boating, kayaking, diving and coast steering.
Flying
Tandem hand gliding experiences are available from Fly Like a Bird based in Woolacombe.
Eaglescott Airfield provide tiger moth flying experiences along the North Devon Coast when the weather conditions allow.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
You can experience clay pigeon shooting close by at South West Shooting School in Mullacott.
Bicycle and Electric Bike Hire
Electric bike hire is available from North Devon Bike Hire operating out of Down End carpark in peak season. Other bike hire options are Waterside Bike Hire and Tarka Bikes.
Quad Bikes
Mullacott Quad Center and Keypitts Off Road Adventures offer quad biking experience.
